My first computer arrived in 1990: a Tandon 286 with which I discovered that computing wasn't just about playing games, but about understanding how things worked under the hood. In 1994 I joined Fidonet and the world of BBSes, those modem-and-phone-line networks that connected people before the internet was an everyday thing. I even became a co-sysop of one of them and, at the end of that same year, I published my first website on Geocities with the «saveWorld» project. Soon after, in 1995, esgratis.net and recursosgratis.com were born, my first websites with a public-service spirit.
I'm the eldest of six siblings, which may explain my habit of starting things. From those modems I moved on to building companies: Ferca Network, Acens and, since 2013, Stackscale España, the cloud infrastructure company I co-founded and which today is part of Aire Networks. Along the way I became a business angel, investing in founders and projects I believe in. I'm passionate about technology, the internet, entrepreneurship, investing and, above all, sharing knowledge: explaining what really matters with a business mindset. That's what I try to do every week on this blog.
